Further photos of the Lankester Botanical Gardens

This garden is looked after by the University of Costa Rica. They have a lot of exotic orchids.

Many different colors of orchids.

Beautiful yellow and pink orchid.

This is a color we are more familiar with, but very beautiful.

Small unusual red orchids.

White orchids with yellow trim.

Beautiful blossom in a lily pond.

A large beautiful blossom on a plant that resembles a Bird of Paradise.
Really interesting blossoms. I don't think I have seen anything like these before.

Bird of paradise. I didn't notice the bug until I saw the picture.

There were quite a few of these kind of blossoms that resemble the Birds of Paradise, but the plants were larger.

There were lots of bromiliads.

Bromiliads in the trees and many in the flower beds. These had interesting blossoms. They were past their prime but were still very pretty.

Posted by PicasaAnother very interesting bromiliad.
