El Jardin Secreto

We did a little like through a loverly place called The Secret Garden. Lots of beautiful plants and at the end an observation tower where one could see all the pretty mountainous scenery. These are lirios blancos.
There were several springs and pools of water, lots of water lilies with tiny fish and tadpoles in very clear water.
A pretty flower among the lily pads.
Another pretty flower among the lily pads.
We have seen a lot of these tiny pink bananas. I think they are so pretty. We have never seen them for sale to be eaten so we asked and were told that they were not edible. So I guess they are just ornamental and attract butterflies.
Lots of different types of heliconias. This one was interesting in that the bracts were fuzzy.
Another heliconia.
Still another heliconia.
Lots of bromiliads.
A pretty red bromiliad.
A really interesting flower in the middle of this bromiliad.
Another bromiliad.
A delicious looking red berry. I think this was a lot like those wild thimble berries we used to find in Waterton. You may remember them from the hike to Blakiston Falls at Red Rock Canyon.
We have seen a lot of these interesting flowers. I don't know what they are called. The blossoms resemble succulent leaves as they are thick and look like they are full of liquid.
A moss covered heart shaped rock. Please ignore the shoe! I hadn't realized it was there or I would have taken another shot.
A stem of bananas that has been cut off the tree. The man who takes care of these gardens gave us some of them to bring home.
An interesting and pretty blossom or fruit, I don't know which. But they seem so heavy that they bend down the stem so it appears to be broken off.
Some kind of moth that blends in with the dead leaves on the forest floor.
An interesting fallen leaf.
Beautiful little flowers on one of the plants.
