Old buildings and other sights in Liberia

Liberia is a city north of here in Guanacaste with the beaches to the west and mountains to the east. There are still a few old Spanish Colonial buildings there. Love the old tiles on this roof, except they look iffy for the rainy season!
This one has been restored and looks more water tight.
This looks like the balcony on our house in Phoenix.
Interior of the church on the main town square. It is quite plain inside and out.
I guess because of the humidity and heat and no air conditioning, these little cross shaped openings all over the outside walls were completely open with no glass to provide for some cross ventilation.
Interior ceiling.
This old house must not be in use, all boarded up. But it still has the pretty old tile roof.
You know I like interesting gates.
A street scene.
An old church called a hermitage. They are doing some restoration work on the interior.
Another interesting looking gate and rock wall.
Typical brightly colored house.
