For some reason, the last post didn't work. So I will try again and this time put all the text at the bottom as that seemed to work once before. The last day the Bagleys were here, the children did baptisms for several of Laurie's ancestors whom he researched on his mother's line. This was a really great experience for all of us. The top photo is of Jacob, Savanna and Madison in front of the temple here in Costa Rica after the baptisms. After that we started out for the Volcan Irizu which as I mentioned before was the one that was active in the 1960's when Laurie was here as a young missionary. On the way we stopped at a fruit stand and bought several new things to try. We had had these avacados before and really like them. The flesh is yellow, they are quite big and very good. I have several of the pits in water to try to grow some of them and about 4 of them have already sprouted. This was one way that Austin recognized he was in his mother's home! There is one picture of the calderra of the volcano. It was really cloudy at the top of the mountain. But the clouds cleared just long enough to get a few good pictures. Then there are several pictures inside the Basillica in Cartago, including one of a small dark stone carving of Madonna and child called the Negrita. The last photo is a wild green parrot. We hear flocks of them flying overhead making great squawking sounds. I have never been able to get a photo of one before, but they are quite pretty birds. We had a great time with the kids here. We hope that all of you will be able to come sometime. We can vary the activities according to what will work for you and are sure you would enjoy your stay.
